Topic: An update

So I finally took the plunge and saw a specialist after my last failure. Long story short...I can get pregnant but due to a chronic illness I have, it appears that my immune system doesn't recognize baby as a non-threat...thus the reason for my chemical pregnancies/miscarriages. There are ways to get around it, but they are not viable options for me (meds that compromise my immune system whilst I work in a hospital...not a good plan). In addition, nothing is guaranteed. I face the prospect of going into massive debt and incredible heartache if I continue down this road, So I'm moving on...

I'm now in the middle of the process of getting licensed for Fost/Adopt. I'm told I can expect a placement as early as 3 months from now yikes

I will probably fade into lurkdom for some time now. The homestudy process is incredibly time consuming and I'm trying to do a DIY Kitchen Renovation at the same time. And work, and eat, sleep, clean, etc. AND hopefully by Christamstime...diaper duty???

I wish you all best of luck!

After 8 attempts...6 BFN, 1 Chemical Pregnancy, and 1 Miscarriage
Attempt #9...June 25/26?

Re: An update

I'm sorry AI isn't going to work for you. I have done foster care for 23 years and adopted 8 children as a single parent. I sure wish the best for you. I am doing this a bit backward. I am older so am trying while the window of opportunity may be open to have one of my own. I have no plans to foster or adopt any more children even if this does not work but just couldn't grow older without trying. Now, if I knew places like NW existed I would have tried AI years ago. I love my adopted children so much and it's a wonderful way to have a family. Keep in touch I'd love to hear you have a little one in your arms!

Re: An update

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.  It seems so unfair that you have to give up, but it's good that you found this out and can move on.  Good luck with the adoption.  I hope you have a new addition to your home very soon.

Re: An update

Maybe this just means there's a baby out there meant just for you!

Peace and Love to you all
